Just testing readers

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I have no idea why I need to do this, but am roadtesting some new readers thanks to those buggers at google.  This is bloglovin which looks like it will drive me nuts since you can't see whole posts in the reader and have to go clicking off on each one.

I'm also testing feedly and I tried newsblur but hated that at first glance, I don't want to see whats on youtube, twitter and wikipedia thank you.  Anyway I'll be keeping an eye out to see what everyone else is trying and praying someone out there comes up with something that is just an exact copy of google reader by July 1.

bah!

  2. Digg are working on a Reader replacement. I am keeping my fingers crossed they don't #$&* it up with Social sh*te but if they do hopefully they make it optional.

  6. I am so with you on this - I really don´t understand Google at times - first they take Picnik, and now Reader? Oh, the frustration!

I am trying out feedly at the moment too…Hoping it or something else will grow on me.

  7. I am in the same boat. It's so sad! I've looked around a bit and am trying out feedly. You can get it to behave similar to reader, and it uses the same keyboard shortcuts. But it is not the same! You have to install an extension and has extra features I just don't want. Hopefully in the next few months something comes along!

  9. i can't stand that almost reader is now connected to a social network. all my friends already know where to find me. i feel like someone is trying to take me hostage. like everyone else, i'm looking around every corner for a good replacement. google+ connects to too many things and it's too invasive for me. has anyone read about google getting fined for invading computer privacy while disguising themselves as workers for their street views? yup! they were gathering very private information especially from wirelesses(?). google this news ;)

  10. I'm with JenC. But I might try bloglines now that I've read your comments. Bleh, change hurts even when it's for the better.

  11. With Bloglovin' if you click on the post title it tales you to a window where you can sequentially load all your new posts, while seeing each whole page. It's quite good.

  15. I'm currently using bloglovin - it's not my favorite but for now I guess it will have to do so I can follow all of the blogs I enjoy reading. Boooo on Google!

  16. Do have a look at Bloglines - there was a time a few years ago when they were going to close and I nearly moved over to Google reader. For a change, being slow and disorganised was a good thing :) Good luck in finding something you like.

  17. Could you add an "email subscription" gadget to your blog so I may continue to follow you via my emails. I'm also with google reader right now.

  18. For the moment I am using feedly. Some things about it are kind of bumpy - but you do have your choice of how you view posts and that is a big help. I like the magazine view for the over view, then when I read a whole specific topic group I change the view to show me the whole post one after another and check them as read when I get to the bottom.
